I swear every time I get my hands on a house or roombox I end up moving and getting rid of it. Well here is my latest little find. A kitchen cabinet I bought at a barn sale for $2.00. I saw it and thought "there is my new roombox project". Yes it's a bit big, a little too tall, but there sure is lots of room! My ideas have always been bigger than the time I've put into them, but I have a big empty palate here and will be able to do something with it, I think. I'd like a Christmas store, I'd like a country store, I'd like a little book nook/coffee shop candy store. Will it all fit? Well gosh. Maybe I should just focus on one thing at a time, like putting the floor in. I did that today! It was either put the floor in or go through tax receipts and well the floor won out. I want to light this little box and figured it would be easier if I was able to get access to the floor because I'm planning to use Christmas lights. At least that is the plan so far.
Ok so, piled up underneath the room box is my collection or part of my collection of mini Christmas stuff that I pulled out of it to put the floor in., and I think I need to put it back in there and play with it for a while to see what exactly I am to do next. Then I will close the cabinet doors and work on those tax receipts I was supposed to be working on.
Yea nevermind those receipts, let's see here....
I put all of the Christmas stuff back in to see how much room I'd have to play with. It's 8 1/2" on both the bottom floor and second floor, so plenty of room, not a big amount but enough. There isn't enough room to stick a star on that tree below though. The other large tree isn't going to stay in that case, but the case does blow snow and play horrific sounding music. I'd like that area to be for a Christmas scene.
Oh my gosh this is just too funny! So there are skeletons in the Christmas scene. I just stuck them in there because I don't have people. I need some miniature peeps!
Ooooohhhhh ok, here is this little mini guy, we'll say for the sake of him having a name, it is Farmer Bob. I'm going to try and get him a date with Tessie over there at Casey's Minis. He'd love to take a ride on that bike! Look at him, he finds his way into just about every photo I need a person in because he's all I have. Funny guy needs his moustache trimmed. Ok it's time to hide my mess now. I have done such a fine job of avoiding those receipts that I may get Christmas put away today.

Well I had to open it up and get a little more done on it before the weekend. Weekends are always so busy here! First thing I took the center front out, and wow that made a difference. I made the second floor a bit smaller than it was yesterday, and began laying out how the stairs would look. I am still undecided. All I know is I don't want them in one straight line, I'd like them to have a stoop and curve. I will more than likely end up making the little Christmas area a bit smaller. I do like how it is coming along! Monday I will open it back up and get those stairs designed.

Well it's a lot closer to what I was looking for. I wanted the stairs to have a landing somewhere in between the top and bottom steps. Next I need to get some walls in and eventually begin replacing cardboard with wood. This is fun!

Thanks Doreen, you're right I am having a lot of fun with it. You might never see the finished scene but if you check back you might see some progress. I did get the walls in but not photo worthy progress just yet. As soon as I get to exhale I will being replacing that cardboard with wood. Aren't miniatures great?
