The Fabulous Farmhouse, Where Is Everything?

       

A little background.

When The Fabulous Farmhouse store first opened in 2007, all of the miniatures I listed for sale were available to view and purchase even while out of stock. After a few months of me being crazy, I switched the listings and photos to still being viewable but not available for purchase until they were back in stock. Even with this setting in place, I still lost my ability to create anything new because I was constantly restocking with no time left for little else. Today, once miniatures are sold out the listing is not available to view. While I realize I may not catch the eye of a possible new miniatures customer, this setting allows me to continue to love doing what I do. 

     

Ever changing...

The Fabulous Farmhouse has certainly gone through changes in the past years, for example, I now work full time outside of my home and can create miniatures when I'm not at work. Today I love doing it because I have balance and time with the great people in my life. I also traded my dream of a fabulous farmhouse and live in a fabulous lakeside cottage. Seeing Lake Huron every day reminds me of The San Francisco Bay I grew up with. Should I change the name of the store? Nah.

 The best way to own some of my miniature creations is to keep checking back in the store, check my facebook page for new listings, or simply email me with what you're looking for so that I can get it restocked or created sooner. I do keep a running list of requests and I'll gladly add your request!   Waiting time varies, but I always strive for quality not quantity. Creating miniatures takes a bit of time, and thank you in advance for your patience with the process! 

     


What else?

I make miniatures because I love to. I'm not Walmart by any means, but I do offer exceptionally reasonable prices. I'm not making miniatures to get rich and famous, I do it because I love sharing with you, and I love the kind people and emails I receive from satisfied miniature enthusiasts and friends.

We did!

A few weeks ago, I married my best friend. I found one of the nice guys. He adores me, everything about me. I feel the exact same way about him. My heart leaps every time I see him. We are loving every minute of it. It's a fabulous life I have right now, and we are feeling pretty blessed. That is one thing I wanted to post about even if ever so briefly. Love. I will post again as soon as possible about some miniatures. I've been super busy with non miniature tasks and details such as changing my name:) Here's wishing everyone a most happy week! Cathy Kredell

Throwing Hands Way Way Up and Smiling

Ok so, news. What's new, everything. Where do I start? Things are good. Real Good. I have been thinking, discussing with some fabulous women, praying on what to do about my miniatures store. This quote I came across pretty much sums up the situation.

Miniatures have a new priority in my life. I still love them, and they still fascinate me, and they are still a passion, but there's more. I'm working outside of the house now, sometimes 8,10,12 hours. I have some incredible friends that I love spending time with, road trips are planned, family reunions, 5K races, and whatever else I can fit in! I intend to live my life as it's bursting at the seams with excitement and love. And romance ;) Oh yes.

 If you've never seen this video or heard this song, it's worth a look. It's what it's all about.

My world is incredibly different than it was when I opened the store in 2007, so it's only natural I have to make some adjustments. I've been putting it off as long as I could, but you'll soon see my inventory shrinking. This won't necessarily be a bad thing. The positive side of this is you won't see SOLD OUT throughout the store while shopping. When the item is gone, it's gone. Sure I might make it again, and surely many things I do keep as a regular item, but for a long while now I've missed out on the fun part of making new miniatures.

I would much rather be making the new cake and cupcakes, than responding to an email with regrets an item is no longer in stock. Lately I haven't even been able to respond it's so discouraging. So, time for change. Good things are coming, both in the store as well as my personal life. I need the freedom of expression back, and this is how I'll get it. I need to feel satisfied that I've done the very best I can for you. While you're shopping the store, you may still see some sold out items, I just haven't had the opportunity to turn off the already existing sold out stock. I'll get to it....so sick of saying that:) So....with all that said.....

I'm not accepting requests for out of stock items because I have no idea when they'll ever be back in stock. That's pretty honest. This change will benefit everyone shopping in my store, as well as everyone in my life, as well as me. I feel like a brand new person!

Well, I am a brand new person. I run every day, I eat healthy, and I laugh often with people I love.  I love you all, and am grateful for your support as not only customers, but as truly great friends, mentors, and people that care. All of yous:)

And as usual, lots to do here so I am wrapping this up and saying come shop the store, keep an eye out for recently restocked miniatures in the featured items area listed on the left, and new items too (when I get that chance!) Miniature Wedding Display

Pat Hausman sent me this photo of a display she made in miniature for her daughter's wedding. Isn't this great? It seems miniatures are becoming more and more popular in many venues. I love when friends and customers share their creative efforts with me so I can show them to you too! Pat sent this photo some time back, and I've been remiss in posting anything. I'm sorry Pat, but I am grateful she shared this as I am afraid I haven't anything new of my own to share with anyone, in miniature that is.

My daughter is getting married this coming Saturday June 12th, I wish I'd made one of these awesome displays like Pat did for her daughter, just beautiful!

As for me, I find myself single again, hence the very long gap in posting anything here. Lots of healing time needed. I am working outside of the home, as well as maintaining my business at The Fabulous Farmhouse. There has been a new posting on the front page regarding ordering out of stock, 7-10 days to shipping. The out of stock has been turned off briefly as it's just easier for folks to order what it is they need, but as always you can send me an email and I will add it to the list of items wanted.

My brain just recently started considering making anything new, so I do hope to get my hands on some fun new things soon. On Wednesday June 9, I will have my hands on my Grand baby Naomi whom I haven't met yet, she's a mini so she will be a better than ever substitute for cupcakes or chocolates, they will come though, and I will be thrilled to let you know when.  I must say, I love my friends and family for loving and supporting me through this very difficult time in my life. Sunday Catchup Post

I am only a week late in posting the winner of the January giveaway. Joanne, of Dali's Dollhouse on eBay Store's was the winner of the Valentine collection. Congrat's Joanne! A very nice lady, and she has some great items offered on eBay. You can take a trip to her store by clicking the link above.

This month the store won't have a giveaway because I thought I'd do something that could involve everyone, like really great deals in the mini sets category. Keep checking back because lots more of these one of a kind sets will be listed. The monthly giveaway will resume in March:)

 

I removed a few listings with drop down menus in the store so you would know exactly how many of what color was available for purchase. Not quite finished with that but I'll update as I'm adding stock this week. Now I'm off to get some emails returned, sets listed, and some candy restocked.

Tuesday To Do's

Not many pictures here either....here is one of those stupid standard one's we all have in our sample file. That'll have to do till I'm caught up:) I know, don't go out of my way, right? It is snowing here, so it's somewhat similar to what I might have posted....
